Medjool Dates – The Medjool date is undeniably a most incredible fruit. It has a delicious taste, amazing nutritional value and astoundingly useful properties. Nutritional properties of a single Medjool date are remarkable to say the least. The list of vitamins contain Vitamin A, Retinol Activity Equivalent, Beta Carotene, Lutein + Zeaxanthin, Vitamin K, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, food Folate, Folic acid, dietary Folate equivalents, Pantothenic Acid, Choline, and Betaine. I know that list was impressive but there is still more. Medjool dates contain a bountiful amount of Minerals; they include Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Sodium, Zinc, Copper, and Manganese. What a wonderful little ingredient. Why I eat them daily.
Coconut – Reduce the risk of heart disease, lower your cholesterol, improve conditions in those with diabetes and chronic fatigue, improve Crohn’s, IBS, and other digestive disorders,  prevent other disease and routine illness with its powerful antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal agents, increase metabolism and promotes healthy thyroid function, boost your daily energy, rejuvenate your skin and hair.
Cacao– Magnesium, and other essential minerals including calcium, sulfur, zinc, iron, copper, potassium, and manganese,Polyphenols called flavonoids, with antioxidant properties,Vitamins: B1, B2, B3, B5, B9, E, Essential heart-healthy fat: oleic acid a monounsaturated fat, Protein and Fibre. Raw cocoa is an aphrodisiac because it contains anandamide, a substance that induces euphoria. It also contains phenylethylamine (PEA), which is a mood enhancer. While this super-molecule exists naturally in the brain, the only other food that contains PEA is blue-green algae.
SpirulinaHawaiian Pacifica is the only Spirulina in the World that adds pure, mineral rich, Deep Ocean Water from 2000 feet below the Pacific containing a unique array of 94 trace elements – this valuable feature alone makes Hawaiian Pacifica the most complete and beneficial Spirulina available
Comparing phytonutrient levels, Hawaiian Pacifica Spirulina is 31 times more potent than blueberries, 60 times more potent than spinach and 700 times more potent than apples.
Macca – Maca is a nutritionally dense super-food that contains high amounts of minerals, vitamins, enzymes and all of the essential amino acids. Maca root has been shown to be beneficial for all sorts of hormonal problems including PMS, menopause, and hot flashes. Maca’s also a fertility enhancer and is best known for improving libido and sexual function, especially in men. For this reason, it’s earned the nickname “nature’s Viagra.”

Almonds–  Nuts have been shown to be good for you, but did you know that the humble almond is one of the most nutritious of all the nuts?

Almonds also contain a whole host of other nutrients.  For example, a small handful (20 nuts or so) of almonds contains twelve percent of your daily allowance of protein, and 35 percent of your daily allowance of vitamin E in the form of alpha-tocopherol, a vital antioxidant for the body.  They also contain more magnesium than is found in oatmeal or spinach.  One small handful of almonds contains as much calcium as a quarter of a cup of milk, and they also contain phosphorus which is necessary for bones and teeth.

Almonds also contain 25 percent of your daily allowance of magnesium and contain significant amounts of potassium. Magnesium is important for improving the flow of blood, oxygen and nutrients throughout the body while potassium is an electrolyte that is involved in nerve transmission and muscle contraction.  It is also important for blood pressure and heart function.

Finally, almonds also contain folic acid, zinc, phytochemicals, selenium , copper, biotin, riboflavin, niacin, and iron, making them a true nutritional powerhouse.

Pepitas– Pumpkin seeds (pepita) are edible kernels of fruit pumpkin,. The seeds, in-fact, are concentrated sources of many health-benefiting vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, and all important essential amino acids liketryptophan and glutamate.

In addition, the seeds are an excellent source of amino acid tryptophan and glutamate. Tryptophan is converted into serotonin and niacin. Serotonin is a beneficial neuro-chemical often labeled as nature’s sleeping pill. Further, tryptophan is a precursor of B-complex vitamin, niacin (60 mg of tryptophan = 1mg niacin). Glutamate is required in the synthesis of γ-amino butyric acid (GABA). GABA, an anti-stress neurochemical in the brain, helps reducing anxiety, nervous irritability, and other neurotic conditions.

So its fair to say that these delicious little truffles pack a punch on the nutrient dense front for a healthy snack. enjoy!!!!
