“Either you run the day or the day runs you.”
There are some things in life that we do religiously everyday without thinking about them. They are just part of life and part of who we are. These things are different for each individual but there are a few things that it’s safe to say are the same for everyone.
Some of these things include brushing your teeth, having a shower, putting on deodorant, washing your hands. Let’s call this our ‘toothbrush list’ We all have a routine we follow religiously and there is never an excuse that stops us from doing them. We brush our teeth every day no matter what day it is, no matter what the weather, no matter how busy we are. (hmm at least I hope you all do! )
Wouldn’t it be great if we could adopt the same philosophy for of the rest of your body? After all, we spend a few minutes every day brushing our teeth. Those minutes are dedicated to the health and wellbeing of a very small part of our bodies. Imagine if we exercised with the same regularity we brushed our teeth. Why wouldn’t you want to look after your whole body the same way as you look after your teeth?
Try adding something today to your toothbrush list that will benefit the health and fitness of your whole body. Something as small as drinking an extra glass of water a day. What about adding an extra 15 minutes of exercise a day? Everyone has 15 minutes to spare. Something as small and as simple as skipping, will do. Start small, but do it every day. Once you have that down and are doing it every day add something else to the list or look at pushing yourself a little further.
Do you have to do it on your birthday? Do you have to do it if it’s raining outside? The answer is no. You just have to do it on the days you brush your teeth 😉
